DEXi Applications
=================

:doc:`DEXi <DEXi>` is particularly suitable for solving complex
:doc:`decision problems <DEXiGlosDProb>`, which typically involve:

-  many (say, 15 or more) :doc:`attributes <DEXiGlosAttr>`,
-  many :doc:`options <DEXiGlosOpt>` (10 or more),
-  judgment, which prevalently requires
   :doc:`qualitative <DEXiGlosQMAMod>` reasoning rather than numerical
   evaluation,
-  inaccurate and/or missing data,
-  group decision making, which requires communication and explanation.

For successful application, DEXi requires sufficient resources,
particularly expertise and time for developing a :doc:`DEXi
model <DEXiIntModel>`.

Some typical application areas and decision problems, in which DEX and
DEXi have been used so far, are the following:

   -  evaluation of personal applications for jobs

#. Medicine and Health-Care

   -  risk assessment
   -  diagnosis and prognosis

#. Other Areas

   -  assessment of technologies
   -  assessments in ecology and environment
   -  granting personal/corporate loans
